The World’s Winter Season

The season commenced with the battle against Coronavirus

We started wearing masks that nearly poked our iris

The virus has forced us to be on lockdown

While in poverty, hunger and in debts we drown

Unfortunately that isn’t the only crisis at hand

Gender based violence has also possessed our land

Women and children shivers at the coldness of men

The duration of this season is beyond our ken

The death of our loved ones has brought us nothing but sombre and gloom

We are in the midst of a mist and a snow of doom

The sky is so clear, we can’t even hope for a rain

The world is just in too much pain

Lord can you please grace us with spring

We are hoping for the light that season will bring.

  1. This was so beautifully said, capturing all of the emotions we are experiencing right now. It is too much to hold alone and your words bring hope piercing through the ice of snow.
